Learn Spanish Card Game - Eating & Drinking Vocabulary (Double Deck)

Fantastic game for learning to make sentences for food and drink. It’s a laugh with friends. I also play it at my Spanish class although I am partially sighted and can’t see writing written in black on colour cards. I have bought some plain business cards and have made my own. My friend is also coloured blind and has done the same. We love it. Maybe you could adapt it for sight impaired people may be in the future, thanks though we really do love it.

Very fun game that helps build sentences and basic vocabulary. I wish more everyday words were included, but there is a thing where you can print out cards and write more yourself, so it's okay. Always need more conjunctions and adjectives!! Always. As long as the players can read, this is a really fun game. My daughter loves making wacky sentences... like lifting a tv with a pen wacky.Also fun to play solo!! I write down the sentences sometimes to look back at and laugh.

Purchased for my granddaughter to have fun with her Spanish. Looks like she'll learn what she needs to order food in a Spanish speaking restaurant and ask basic Spanish questions. A fun gift for a teen who has an interest in the Spanish language. I think the entire family will have fun playing this game.

I do not understand how this works, but being able to make sentences in another language before being able to speak/understand the language is just awesome and encouraging. Will it help to learn the language? We shall see...

Although my kids' first language was Spanish, now that they are in school in English all day it's hard to get them to speak Spanish at home. Kloo is a fun way to get them thinking in Spanish and refreshing their vocabulary. It's easy to play even with friends that don't speak the language because of the colour coding of the cards that guide you in the sequence to make a sentence. They particularly like when the sentence end up being absurd and silly, but they still get the points. I highly recommend it.

This is a fun game to play as a supplement to a language class. It is hard for beginners to make sentences, and this game allows players to expand vocabulary and grammar skills.

I am using this with an adult beginners class. We all like it.Some of the words are not useful, as they are from Spain and the English is British English. We have different names here for some clothing items.I like the design of the cards very much...having the tranlations on other cards makes the students keep engaged and talking to each other.

Kloo gave my students a very concrete form to learn how to write sentences in Spanish. It suddenly made sense to them. After that, I was able to give them lists of nouns, verbs, prepositional phrases and etc. and they were able to create new sentences, then paragraphs. It works well for both visual and kinetic learners. I'm going to continue using it in my classroom and will introduce it to the students much earlier than what I did last semester. I'm hoping to add the second deck to the classroom and take the students even farther. I recommend this product to other language teachers.

I really like this game. After I got my students to like playing the French version of this game in French Club, I decided to get a set in Spanish for my mom. She is going to be 67 years old and helps keep her mind strong by practicing languages. She's always looking for new ways to review and learn, so I thought that this would be perfect. She hasn't tried it yet, but based on the experiences my students have had playing this, I think she'll find it fun and interesting.

I really like this for a classroom setting. It's easy to learn and self-correct. Some reviewers mentioned that the game does become limiting very quickly, and I do recommend adding cards from the 3+4 decks. Our students learned to hack their own and made "kloo" cards that were more relevant to our classroom (student names, etc.) and area (used the school mascot, etc.) Can the makers add some blank cards for this purpose?

KLOO is a great tool for a middle school classroom that has students with varying degrees of prior knowledge of Spanish. During a 20 minute game, friendly peer learning takes place and heritage speakers have fun helping their classmates that are just beginning their journey in learning Spanish. Students are relaxed, laughing, having fun learning what the sentences mean. The bright color coded cards allow the struggling student to feel successful because it's impossible to "write" a bad sentence. Students are impressed with themselves when they build a sentence 6 or 7 words in length and their Spanish speaking classmate affirms them. It builds community in my mulitcultural classroom and keeps the fun in Spanish 1.

I purchased Kloo for Spanish, and I absolutely love it! The game provides a unique learning experience for my son who is learning Spanish, and it is a great way for me to refresh my own Spanish skills. My husband is even excited about learning Spanish along withour son, and we all play the game together on family night. The game is easy to use for children and adults of all ages, and it is a great way to learn a foreign language while having fun at the same time!

I have been working as an English teacher in Mexico. I wanted to teach my family a bit of Spanish while I was home for the holidays. This game has been a great way for them to learn. It is fun for me as a teacher to see what they remember and I think the vocab and sentence structure is sticking with them pretty well. It is nice that there are so many different variations of games that can be played once players are a bit familiar with the cards. I would recommend this as good practice for anyone starting out learning Spanish. I wish I had played before I went to Mexico.

I enjoy playing this game because I get the chance to practice a variety of vocabulary. Card quality is good and card box is sturdy. I would buy again. Fun for people wanting a casual way to practice Spanish.

While this is a really fun concept and still a great addition to our learning collection, it’s not exactly as beginner friendly as you’re lead to believe. We still plan to play and google words as needed so hopefully over the course of time, words and use will be picked up.

This is an amazing game. My students love it and they ask to play it all the time.I ended up buying the whole game from their website. It is really fantastic.

We just received our game and we all love it. The kids (ages 9 and 11) both watched a video on YouTube to get them familiar with the rules of the game. From that, they were able to play right away. They have been taking some Spanish classes but are still uncomfortable speaking Spanish aloud. This game has them learning and speaking without them realizing they are learning; they are too busy having fun. My husband is a native Spanish speaker and I am also learning Spanish. It is great fun for all of us. I particularly like that there are decks for different tenses and that they are separated. Having those will let us utilize the game for much longer while also progressing in our learning. Having tried basically all the language learning programs out there, I highly recommend KLOO! While other programs can teach copious amounts of vocabulary and verb conjugation, KLOO gets you moving with sentence formation and speaking aloud in a very natural way.

I wasn't sure that a game could actually teach you a language, but it can! I found KLOO really easy to pick up and all the games so enjoyable. But what really impressed me was that it only took about half an hour to learn a whole bunch of new words and sentences. I can't wait to get my kids involved.

I can't even remember now how, where or when I came across this little game. At some point in the Autumn term 2016 I took a gamble and bought the French version of Kloo to try with my low ability Year 9 class. They are a small group and generally up for trying anything new so they make ideal guinea pigs.So what is Kloo? According to the description on their website Kloo is "A multi-award winning language game designed to make learning a language fast, easy and fun. Acclaimed by hundreds of MFL teachers and loved by tens of thousands of students." Quite a statement - and one I was determined to test out.The game comes in decks - there are 4 of them per language, and each deck relates to a different area of language: "People", "Eating & Drinking", "Places" and "Everyday Objects". The cards are colour coded, with arrows on each card indicating which colour card can be placed next to it. Each player is dealt a hand of 7 cards - on their turn they try to build a sentence by following the colour coding. A point is won for each card used, and then another point is won for each card translated. So if a player makes a 3 card sentence, and then translate each card, they can earn 6 points. The really clever part is that all the vocabulary needed is at the bottom of a card somewhere in the pack. In my opinion, absolutely. The Year 9 guinea pigs who did this first love playing this game. I think because the ultimate aim is to win, they get very competitive and are compelled to remember as much vocabulary as they can as fast as they can. Now the areas of vocabulary are narrow, given that they cover 4 topics, but the verbs are fairly high frequency so they can adapt them in lessons when not playing the game.The only issue that I've had with this game, is that one of my students is colour blind so the colour coding really doesn't work for him - but that is the only problem that we've had. Since buying the game I've also bought the Spanish set, and as a department we've invested in the Race to Paris board game.We don't play this game every lesson, but it does work very well as a 'treat' at the end of a period of hard work, or to break up a long double lesson, or even to do something more productive when the class is depleted due to school events/illness. It has worked very well as a fun activity for those snappy 30 minute single lessons at the end of a day. I have even set is as cover work in my absence. The students love it!This game will not, in isolation, teach you the language - but it can compliment teaching very well and the fact that students are building sentences straight away builds their confidence no end. I will certainly be keeping this game as part of my teaching 'bag of tricks' and look forward to sharing it with more students and colleagues in time. I have also bought the Kloo Catch the Bug reading game for my 5 year old to play at home - it makes learning to read fun (much better than the dire books she get sent home with!), and will help her with sentence structure later in her schooling.And even better, I've just noticed that they have added a 'make your own' facility to the website so that you can create customised sets for your own classes, or create sets in languages that are not covered by Kloo.I'd say get a set or two, have fun with it, and see what your students say!

I purchased the French Kloo and was so impressed that I bought this one too. It is an excellent way of improving vocabulary and sentence building. I definately recommend this game to anyone who is learning this language.

I found this game very good, the format worked really well! Even though all the people playing were at different Spanish speaking levels everyone learnt something new. The games a great way to start learning spanish at home and encourage those around you to learn (so you have someone to talk to) Its a real shame there aren't more games like this on the market! i would recommend this game to anyone, but if ur learning spanish its even better!

I've bought both double-deck sets in French and Spanish and have had hours of fruitful, fun learning with them with family and friends. The variety of games that can be played, and which are detailed in a free-to-download booklet, is quite stunning, making these packs worth every penny for their sheer versatility. What's more, what I've learnt has been of use when I've been abroad since using them. Well done!
