I haven’t played yet, but I love that they have little expansion packs printable for free on their website. I haven’t gotten to play yet, but I can’t wait.

This is such and relaxing way to learn a new language. My children love it. I tried it with my students also and they were so passionate about playing that they didn't even notice how much they were retaining. Would definitely recommend.
Great way of practice vocabulary for travel and sentences structures. It can be a little confusing with the rules
After playing decks 1 and 2, most of the students learn the vocabulary. That's is when you use decks 3 and 4. The Kloo games website shares great ideas to play different games and they have free downloadable cards to use with your own vocabulary lists, if you want to follow the chapters in your book closely. Great benefit.
My family enjoys playing Kloo together as a way to practice our Spanish and also to have fun. We have Decks 1 & 2 and adding Decks 3 & 4 gave us more variety in the vocabulary to keep it interesting, particularly for kids 6 and & 10, who understand Spanish well, but are now losing their fluency for lack of daily practice. Let's just say that we don't have to force them to play; it's fun.
These games are amazing!!! I have taught Spanish for over 20 years and have found very few games that really help kids learn a language. However, KLOO really helps kids gain new vocabulary. Not only do the games increase their vocabulary, but it helps them improve their thinking skills. Even parts of speech can be reviewed with the games. My students beg to play this!!
Awesome game! My kids really enjoyed playing this. At first they were a little leery, but after playing a round, they got into it. They now ask to play it, and enjoy learning the words. My kids range from 11 - 15, and they enjoy card games already, so that helps also. I took this to my adult education Spanish class, and we had a blast playing. The teacher, a native Spaniard, was very impressed and plans to order this for his other classes. Great game, and I would definitely recommend.
Customer service is pretty amazing over at Kloo HQ. They answered my questions without an issue.The game themselves are also great! A bit unbalanced, because you cannot make all the verbs into sentences, but usually we just pull from previously made sentences to make up for it. Good game to play solo and fun with a kid who enjoys making very silly sentences.We usually play on the floor to keep all the sentences out. Honestly we don't play by the given rules.
Easy to play! 8 yo nonspanish speaker, who has taken spanish lessons for a year and I found this fun and easy. She likes to tweak the rules and make long, Silly sentences, still using the idea of following the colored arrows to decide which word comes next. We have both learned new words, better pronunciation, and conversation. The variety of sentences keeps it fun and interesting. We take it everywhere, as it is an easy card game that doesn't take much space or time.
I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to learn Spanish. I've read many books, but found this the most helpful.The cards made is easy to form sentences. They're colorful. Me and my wife played with these for hours and continue to do so every day. My Spanish increased as a result. No problems or complaints. You will be glad you bought these. I plan to buy other items.
Creative and amusing way to study. As a person who is awful at memorization I got quite a few games out of it before it became really boring. There were also times where it felt like we were harangued by the hands we drew with little way to fix it. Overall it feels more like a good concept that needed more development to really be something able to be used over and over. But for an one again off again or refresher it was fine.
This really helps middle schoolers who struggle with word order in a new language. The color coding really works for them and they are processing important information without realizing it. I recommend three students per group/deck of cards so that you can use the game in a 20 minute window of class time. In 20 minutes, 25 points is a good goal to set to determine the winner. The game is very easy to learn and very effective. The point system is easy for students to track. If beginner Spanish students are playing, I recommend introducing the adjective agreement "challenge" element of the game after students have played KLOO two or three times.
I have now played a few 30-40 mins games with my friends and overall it went down very well. I have several comments, none negative, which I will outline below.I found playing with a score board infinitely more fun than paper and pen. I would definitely recommend the "Race to Madrid" board. It gives a much more complete experience.I love board games and card games and regularly review games for another website. I am always on the look out for decent educational games as they are a difficult nut to crack. The holy grail for educational games is what could be called the "Golden Triangle" - was it fun? was it accessible? and was it educational?Fun? Everyone enjoyed it. No one left frustrated, bored or confused. First hurdle was most definitely leapt over with ease.Accessible? We played with 2 people who had GCSE Spanish, 2 people at beginner level, and one person who had no background in Spanish whatsoever. Everyone did well and no one felt out of their depth - even the person who had never learnt any Spanish previously.Educational? There was a definite trend of people translating more and more words as we went on. By the end nearly every word in the sentences played were translated and the pot of "untranslated" words diminished. The bloke who knew no Spanish at the start successfully translated complete sentences at the end of the game. So another success.So overall it hits all 3 important aspects of an educational game. I am delighted to see as accomplished a game as this one. Not many educational games manage to hit all 3 so it is a real joy to find one that does.Also we played a variation with which you separated the Red verbs from the rest of the deck and every player picked one red at the end of their turn and filled the rest of their hand with the other colours. This meant that everyone always had a starter card and more sentences flowed out. This will make more sense when you buy it!
I'm a private tutor in French and Spanish and would highly recommend the games for other private tutors, parents or even schools.I like to end my lessons with something fun and a bit different than the rest of the lesson. I'll often say to my students, "What would you like to do? Reading, a song, noughts and crosses, hangman, Kloo?" and 9 times out of 10, the answer is Kloo!!Not only do students love it but it is also really useful and the progress they make when working from one deck to the next is brilliant. Sometimes they'll even request we play a "big Kloo" and use two decks at once!Highly recommended product.
This is an excellent language learning game that promotes speaking and forming grammatical sentences. I have all the levels of Kloo and have given them as gifts The beauty of the game is it is a teaching tool and doesn't require a specific vocabulary or proficiency level in order to use it. There are also several additional games that can be played that can be found by going on the website mentioned in the directions. The only prerequisite for using these cards is the ability to read. I am a retired foreign language teacher (a different language from the cards I ordered.) I only wish I had known about this fun and educational game while I was teaching.
We bought the French first having seen excellent reviews on Face Book. We decided for such a reasonable price it was worth the gamble. We found it fantastic and decided to purchase the Spanish Deck 3 and 4.This was a far bigger test of the effectiveness of the game as we have little experience of Spanish. Again we were not disappointed. We played with ages 4 – 80. The 4 year old required some adult help but the colour coding made it easy for them to join in and pick up words fairly easily. We had 60 and 80 year olds who had never learned Spanish before who were able to play straight away, learned lots of new words and enjoyed playing. The pronunciation guides are invaluable and allow you to check that you are saying things correctly which makes learning much easier.No one has time to get bored as it is a fast moving game and everyone is engaged even when it is not their turn. The children frequently ask to play and this ensures that vocabulary is sticking. The competitive element means they are keen to learn the words and pay attention to the cards. They also enjoy keeping score (so great for maths) – I may get them to do this in Spanish too! The children think it is great that they can beat the adults!There are 16 games in total and the fact that you can add future tenses (free download!) and your own cards means that the game has a long life span and can expand as your knowledge of the language grows.
